Researcher Development can be a hard thing to define! Even more so now that UK HE enters a 'post-Roberts' era, with a keen focus on research cultures and public engagement. But at its simplest, it does what it says on the tin: develops researchers and their communities.

What makes Peitho's approach unique? Universities often approach development in the arts & humanities from a perspective incommensurable with its research fundamentals. Even the basics of terminology and language are drawn from STEMM subjects, and its assumptions & values from 'human capital theory' (often without even knowing it!).  This has created a host of problems for the arts & humanities, compounding what is already a challenging time for their existence in a highly marketised higher education system. We're here to help change all that.

We have years of experience designing and improving RD in the arts & humanities and across multiple world-leading leading universities (University of London, University of Cambridge, University of Kent, University of Surrey) and Doctoral Training Partnerships (TECHNE, Oxford-Open-Cambridge, SeNSS).  We want to bring the benefit of these experiences to you!
